Doubling it up: Mall of Cyprus

The biggest seismically isolated building in the world, designed by Redesco and built in 2007,  doubles up: we are designing the Cyprus Mall extension.
The engineering challenge is tricky: the main extension will be built on top of the existing parking. The upper deck of the parking will be disconnected from the columns, and in between seismic isolators will be placed. The new building will then be built above this isolated deck.
