EMILIA-ROMAGNA Tower - Bologna
WINNING PROJECT - DESIGN COMPETITION
The administration compound, for an office surface of 13900 m², is composed of a podium which houses the library, meeting rooms and the canteen, a two level underground parking and of two office buildings, with the height of 28 and 87 m above the ground level, respectively.
The buildings are structurally interconnected by means of visco-elastic devices in order to dynamically control the tower behavior under the earthquake and wind actions.
The tower structure is composed of 6 reinforced and prestressed stair and elevator shafts and of composite steel-concrete columns and beams; the foundation system is based on piles.
Tri-dimensional facade elements of exposed aggregate concrete are pre-assembled before hoisting to the design position.
All the 8.00 by 8.00 two level parking structure is composed of precast, prestressed ribbed slabs, directly bearing on the columns.
