CHURCH "Resurrezione di Gesù" IN SESTO S. GIOVANNI, MILANO
WINNING PROJECT – DESIGN COMPETITION
This new Church features a mix of concrete an steel structures. The main hall is surrounded by concrete frames an walls, while the roofing is made of composite truss-beams.
There is an underground hall also, covered by composite I sections that bear the main hall floor.
The original project foresaw precast post-tensioned, white concrete beams for the roof and underground hall covering, to be left in sight. The change to composite structures was made on request of the Client due to cost constrants.
The entrance façade is made of a complex, free-form concrete wall system.
Ground conditions made necessary to design a jet-grouitng consolidation system and some provisional micro-pile diaphragm for the execution of underground volumes.
